Hi,
Have some general question, lets say we have full site functionality described, we also have pdf files with graphic layout. How you start doing such a site, implementing functionality on some default theme, and then work with new layout? Or the other way? I have a lot of cool ideas for new sites, and not very familiar with Drupal (and web developement at all, despite the fact that I'm quiet well familiar with perl programming) and would like to know your experiences in this area, as I'm preapring to work on it.

In case you have problems with understanding what I wrote, english is not my native language :)

cheers,
Marcin

you can turn your pdf into a psd and begin working it out that way as a totally custom theme. Many tutorials on this around that can be found using google and the documenation tab at the top of drupal.org or you can use a contrib theme and work your ideas into that theme. Really it's up to you how you go about it.

Drupal's very flexible this way. I usually work in parallel. I start the architecture with a default theme so I can get the functionality going while working on the graphic design with psds/wireframes. Then combine as soon as the graphic design is done and tweak from there.
