The funding goal should be an integer. Is there a specific use case where you want the goal to be a string?

No I dont want it to be a string, but the code does not take care of this error.

Yes agree there is no reason for string but it should definitely be verified with a simple check and throw a proper message.

Eventually, this should be a currency field. Otherwise the user is forced to use a site wide currency.
