Currently if no Flickr user is specified (public photos), for example for blocks with photos tagged as term from node, only Creative Commons licensed photos are used. This can however result in empty blocks.

Embedded photos do not infringe copyright as no copy has been made (the original photo from Flickr's server is used), therefore they could be used in case no or not enough CC licensed photos are returned.

The following options on the settings page are suggested (radio buttons):

  • Do not restrict media to Creative Commons licensed on 'public' queries if no results are returned. (default)
  • Always restrict 'public' queries to Creative Commons licensed media.

With 'public' queries are intended Flickr requests that do not specify a Flickr user ID, thus returning results from all public Flickr accounts.
