BruceDawson CreditAttribution: BruceDawson commentedI think you're also going to need links to each field a head of livestock has been in, and each field will need a lot of information about the forage and management practices for that field. Especially if there have been any amendments/seeding/...
Some places may want to track feedings - For instance "Bale O126" was certified Organic, but "Bale O116" was suspected to contain GMO Alfalfa, and "Bale O126" was fed to herd MG142, and "Bale O116" was fed to herd MG251. I'm not sure if we want to go to this level of detail at this time, but it will eventually need to be tracked.
Also note that there's some controversy if GMO is Organic. So any amendments, seeding, and even equipment and equipment management practices need to be tracked. (For instance, tractors that leak oil need records showing if its oil is petroleum based or organic.) There will probably a similar set/type of records required for GMO (versus Organic and conventional).

m.stenta@BruceDawson: you can already see every field that a particular animal has been in. And the Plantings in each field can be used to record inputs, seedings, etc. The combination of these and other logs (some still need to be implemented) should provide a full view of the foraging and management practices for each field. We'll need to define how those things are displayed, and how they can be planned for future, too... most of that will be UI work and making data easily accessible.
I think the level of detail you describe for feedings will be possible, especially once the following tasks are done: #2401531: [META] Farm Inventory Brainstorm/Discussion and #2361663: Differentiate "Organic" and non-organic.
Good to know about the leaky oil recordkeeping... I'll give that some thought...
Thanks for the input!

m.stentaAll farmOS repositories have been merged into the farmOS distribution (see #2876992: Merge farmOS repositories into drupal.org/project/farm). I'm going through and moving all open issues from the various project issue queues to the central queue now...

m.stentaI'm going to close this - if there are specific needs let's open new issues. Also recommend opening a discussion on the new forum: https://farmOS.discourse.group
