hey
ok im tring to create a cck content type that only reveals certain form fields within the edit form if they are needed.

so it would appear that Conditional Fields is the module for me! ;)

however, after installing it i cant see anywhere to actually assign a specific field as the 'trigger field'. if i go to add a new field there appears to be no relevant options within the add field, edit field. or configure field tabs.

there is the Conditional Fields tab in the content type but as far as i can tell this just sets the way the fields will act once they are assigned to a 'trigger field'.

any help would be massively appreciated!

apologies if there is a glaringly obvious answer to this question but i seriously dont know where to start!
cheers
cnp

(im using a drupal 5.7 install btw)

Hi cnp,

very probably is not your case and I apologize if this answer could offend you, it's not my intention, but: have you
looked very very carefully at the form? The widget is a collapsed fieldgroup that must be opened by clicking on a very very (at least for me) hidden link Conditional fields settings located below the Help text: textarea.
Again I apologize if it's not your case and you will think that I treat you like a stupid, I assure that it isn't the case; the fact is that I was very near to going crazy ( ;-) ) with the same problem and, after several hours, I've understood that the problem was that I'm almost blind (and very very dumb ;-) ). So, as I'm a professional Web developer with some years of activity, not the very last stupid in the world, I think, I've thought that this could be your case too.
Please let me know If I've helped you

Cheer
Matteo

Since three of you had this difficulty, the problem lies in the design, not with your fatigued eyes :)

I'm adding more detailed information in readme.txt.

Hi Peter,

I am sorry, I may be blind as well.

When I go to Content Types, and then to Edit my content type where I want conditional fields, I can see on the top tabs the "Conditional Fields" where I can set general stuff, but where can I set conditional fields?

In the README.txt it says "Once the module is activated, a new set of options will appear in the field editing form, from where you can select which of the allowed values available will make the field "controlled""

But where is this field editing form? Can you give maybe a path instead of this description?

Ah I found it, it is actually this

go to Content Type
Edit content type you want
Click on Manage fields
Click on Edit the field
and under the "Help Text" textarea it is there!
