Set up and configure Spamspan. Make sure SpamSpan works as a filter.
Set up and configure the Email Field module, https://www.drupal.org/project/email. Test the Email Field module by adding an email field to a content type.
When both modules are working by themselves, connect SpamSpan to an email field.
- Create a test content type named Email Field test.
- Save the content type.
- Add a field named Email Field. Use Field Type of Email.
- Select the Manage Display tab.
- Select the Format drop down selection list for Email Field.
- Select Email SpamSpan in the Format drop down selection list.
- Save the change.
Test the result by creating content of type Email Field. Add email address, display the content. Test addresses of different formats.
The email field type is included in the Drupal 8 core. The future of the Email Field module is not yet decided.
