Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
- A central place to find out about the governance structure of the project, latest news about governance
- Governance: Curated content, only section maintainers (working group members) can edit or add new content
- Implementation details: 'section' node as a container for all of the content, page content type with comments off by default used for most content, 'post' content type can be used for blog posts if necessary
- Currently d.o/governance, g.d.o/governance
- Persona: Learner, Skilled, Expert
Remaining tasks:
- Audit pages in the 'Governance' book (https://www.drupal.org/governance)
- Create proposed section IA map (see example https://www.drupal.org/files/issues/why-drupal.png from #2516956: Create 'About' Section), use this future state site map as a reference / starting point
- Create node for the new section (tvn can done once above steps are done and someone is ready to work on it)
- Migrate content from the 'book pages' into the new section using 'page' content type and following the IA map (unfortunately this is a manual step)
- Consider if the section needs its own blog like e.g. About Drupal has http://drupal.org/blog
- Consider migrating old posts from g.d.o/governance into blog posts in this section
- Once the content is in place, redesign the landing page of the section to be a well-designed representation of security information about Drupal

tvn CreditAttribution: tvn at Drupal Association commentedAs a part of content strategy recommendation roll out, we'll be implementing 'Governance' section on Drupal.org, the goal of which is to provide clear and up-to-date information on community governance structure, who the people are, how decisions are made etc. This will effectively replace the page linked in the original issue summary. Re-purposing this issue as a place to plan upcoming section. Will update issue summary shortly.

yoroy CreditAttribution: yoroy commentedWould be good to document who's in charge of maintaining current sections, maybe even on those Section pages themselves. I guess https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/team is a start for that secion, something like that for each section?
