Guys,
since i started to use Location module, i implemented some new features, fixed some bugs, turned a Drupal code and PHP E_ALL code compliant.
I was about to write a dozen patches but a saw the issues list: completely frozen for years.
I tried to contact the module owners to let me commit directly. I have dozen (or maybe hundreds) of patches regarding bugs, new features. Like my other modules (see e-Commerce or Taxonomy menu), i also use to reply all issues and fix user reported bugs.
best regards,
massa

michelleI would love to see someone take over this module. Unfortunately, the maintainer has been unwilling in the past to let anyone take over. Hopefully he will change his mind. This is a very popular module with a lot of issues that are just not being addressed.

ajk commentedNot to mention a number of co-maintainers:-
ankur
KarenS
ax
geodaniel
greggles
If the maintainer doesn't maintain and doesn't even answer offers of help then I see now reason to add another co-maintainer. After, the owner can roll and roll back changes if s/he doesn't like it. That's what CVS is all about. So I would like to add.
Thoughts?

michelleMy thought is go for it. I tried to talk Bdragon into doing a hostile takeover once but he didn't go for it. :) I and all the other users of Location would welcome seeing the issue queue get moving.

chx commentedankur -- did nothing for his module for eternity.
KarenS -- the High Lady of CCK is quite busy with that.
ax -- anyone even remembers his last commit to anything?
geodaniel -- I do not know anything about
greggles -- now, I know he is so busy that he seeks a co-maintianer for pathauto.
So, adding more (and actually removing old) is quite in order.

chx commentedI have moved the project to Bdragon. Let's continue from here.

bdragon commentedbrmassa, you now have CVS access.
Please hold off on committing for a bit, I'm going to document the state of the repository before touching it.

brmassa commentedhi Brandon,
thanks a lot for letting me commit to location module. Thanks for the trust.
As soon you give me the white sign to commit, i will do some new bug fixes and code standard compliance. then, some new features.

massa

ankur commentedI'm fine with the handing over of project ownership as long as I still have commit access to my module. Keeping this open until I have commit access to the module again.
