Plan for 7.x-1.0-beta8 on 2013-01-15

The single most important item left is #1572474: Add Revisions to Metatags for Entities, once that's fully tested and shown to work I'll be able to carve out beta8.

Lets use this after all.

Almost, there are one or two small things I want to review before going for it, hopefully I'll get to them tonight if others don't first.

Lets launch beta8 on Drupal's 13th birthday! Please help test the current -dev release to ensure there are no critical/major bugs.

There are a few bug reports with patches that need review:

All efforts to help test these over the next three days would be greatly appreciated.

Would love to see #1658970: Upgrade path: Page_Title in Beta 8. More than happy to help test this out.

HyperGlide: I'm sticking with bug fixes for the last day-ish before releasing beta8, the last (known) major bug I'm aiming to fix is #2172433: Older Metatag updates broken after revision support was added.

is it safe to update from beta5 to beta9? Are all of the saved meta descriptions going to be retained after the update?

I always recommend testing updates on an offline copy of your site first, just to be sure. I've tested several updates from beta7 without any problems, but not from beta5.

I really want the updates to work flawlessly for everyone, so I'll tell you what - try out the update on a backup of your site, if you run into any problems please open a new issue and I'll work to fix it immediately.

Just a brief info about updating from beta5 to beta9 - it works properly and all of the saved tags were there after the update.
