Seven's blue link color #0074bd does not provide enough contrast to meet WCAG AA when it is in the header (#e0e0d8).
This is a follow up of https://drupal.org/node/740756.

mgiffordSo jumping from #0074bd to #00619d would fix this based on http://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/
Is that too much of a jump? Going to #0073bd doesn't seem to be enough against this background.

echoz CreditAttribution: echoz commentedOne detail of #2022695: Content header style update is it omits the breadcrumbs, which would make this bug obsolete if no other links show up here.
In general, perhaps this should go back to checking anywhere links appear in Seven against non white backgrounds, because any link color change made should be checked throughout Seven.
We can also lighten backgrounds in combination with darkening link color.

Bojhan CreditAttribution: Bojhan commentedI am not sure if we should be placing the breadcrumbs here too.
So I am really worried about the disconnect from the UX activities and the a11y team, in Drupal 7 we had much more collaboration. If an issue is noticed with contrast, that requires the drastic step of changing our base Drupal Blue color we should be contacted and we should look at whether the style guide effort relieve us of this problem.

dead_armWhen I created this follow up issue I added it to the outstanding issues list of #1986434: New visual style for Seven so that it would be on the Seven revamp team's radar.
I don't think people have posted patches to adjust the contrast here because they recognize that there are still changes being made to Seven's header and breadcrumbs, so this could become a WCAG AA non-failure once things firm up.

LewisNymanTagging with styleguide. Thanks for this. We're have a few options when handling breadcrumbs.
