Editable line "I agree with the Terms of Service"

You can implement hook_form_alter and update title as per your requirement. See the sample code below:

I would like to suggest making the "I agree with the Terms of Service" and the validation error message both easily configured within the settings for the pane. I've attached a patch that creates new pane settings for those two fields.

Also I kept the actual link text configurable by using the title of the referenced entity.

Yes, it's an important point, I agree.

As an alternative you could allow to use the title of the linked node as title... "I agree with the %title of node%"
