Create a biblio view filtered by user profile & profile biblio display preferences

I'd like to create a custom view of biblio nodes that is contextually filtered by the user id - author id link to display on a user's profile page, with a read more link to the biblio tab in the profile that displays more results. This much is straightforward. However, I'd also like this view to hide results if the user in question has not chosen to display publications on their profile page in the user account settings. Any ideas?
