IOW: avoid Batch API, Queue API, cron and etc. If the user is allowed to select only one item (using radios), then there are no out-of-memory concerns.

This was reverted in 7.x-3.2, according to the release notes. The commit message refers to #1902104: Allow batching to be skipped.
