Optional manual forward of slideshow

I find that it is useful to offer both default option and manual option to set slideshows to only advance on click, not automatically. This can be done by the Nivo slider, see:
But I think that such an option should be present in this theme too.
From my perspective, I would like to have a tick mark for "automatic", and a field to set the forward timer in seconds. The default can be "on" (automatic).
