I have this module on a couple of sites and despite it not being "production-ready" it's the most versatile gallery I've found for D7 sites. But I'm finding that on Chrome, in lightbox view the image description text is hidden or displayed somewhere outside the visible area;I realize this isn't specifically a gallery issue...would be grateful for any suggestions.
for some reason I am getting different display on the "all galleries" page for anon users (as opposed to admin and editor roles) - tiny 18 x 18px collection thumbnails instead of scaled up to the appropriate size for the 4-column layout specified. I can't figure out why a different scaling/style would be applied based on role.... Sorry, don't yet know why, but a content div style was being applied differently for logged-in users. This part is fixed via css.

I think, it can be solved by changing the css, to set the width of the description-box smaller.

The first issue is a duplicate of #1667524: Description not displaying in lightbox.
Currently we have no fix for it. You can try to modify the css values to not use the full width. Then the text floats on the right side of the image.
