When visiting node/25/outline I get
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in book_helper_help() (line 17 van /.../modules/contrib/book_helper/book_helper.module).

The node is not yet in a book structure. After adding it to a book and revisiting the same page problem goes away.

Fixed in current release. I just removed the duplicate help text.
