After upgradig to 2.9, $product_out_of_stock is no longer working.

I use to use 

<?php if(!$product_out_of_stock){print "something";}) ?>

but now it only test for stock on the default product and not it's variants SKU's.

For the variant sku you can use

if (uc_stock_level($sku) > 0) { print "something";}

$product_out_of_stock is presumably provided by some contrib module, Ubercart core doesn't provide this functionality?
