Media tags and special characters not rendering correctly

Recently I've been having issues with how media tags and quotation marks render. When I try editing image it will show under the edit mode but after I save it it will not display. Than after I go back to edit the node I will see that all special characters were switched with their HTML code. I tried to disable WYSIWYG and to add the images just through plain html but everytime I had a quotation mark a forward slash would be added to it once I saved my changes. it will be switched with /'. I am not sure why is this not working now since I have not change any Text format setting.
