Alter Quiz teaser output to remove all content but the stats table

I would be exceptionally grateful for any assistance. I am at the end of a project using this module, and it has been nothing short of excellent. The final change is to remove all content from the teaser view apart from the stats table.

I have looked through the code and I can see where the table is produced but not how the table and content are put together.

My last resort will be to go into node.tpl and check the node type and if it is being displayed in "Teaser Mode". If it is I will have to regex out the table and replace $content with that. I do not think this approach is sensible though.
