I'm having trouble creating a rotating slideshow w/ Views Slideshow: Cycle 6.x-3.0. For all display types, the "Slideshow" option is missing from Basic Settings > Style when creating a view. While upgrading to Views 3 fixes the problem, I didn't understand whether Views Slideshow: Cycle needed to be tightly coupled w/ Views? This may end up being a Views Slideshow issue, and not Views. Thanks for any advice,

Yes, Views Cycle 6.x-2.x needed Views 6.x-2.x whereas Views Cycle 6.x-3.x needed Views 6.x-3.x.
Support for Views Slideshow 6.x is mostly deprecated (ie bug fixes and major errors may be looked at and security issues, but not really anything else), so closing.
