Hi, I am over halfway done translating the Esperanto of Drupal and have checked it into CVS, but it still shows up without any kind of progress indicator on the translation page at http://drupal.org/project/Translations.

Drupal interface translation to Esperanto international language.
Traduko de la interfaco de Drupal sur internacia lingvo Esperanto.

This should also read:

Traduko de la interfaco de Drupalo en la internacia lingvo Esperanto.

How can we get this translation to appear on the translation page now that it has been released?

YHager provided some excellent advice:
1. The translation packaging script fails silently if there is anything wrong with the .po files.
2. Translation software should have the ability to check .po files.
3. As described (very) briefly here
http://drupal.org/translation-status
the 'msgfmt' utility has parameters --check and --statistics that will report any problems with a .po file

I am using the Windows-based poEdit, which comes with four gettext utilities including msgfmt.exe. Running this on the Esperanto .po files produces a couple pages of errors. The problem is thus with the .po files, not with the translation packaging script, so the ball is back in the court of the Esperanto translators.

A page of documentation on the translation packing script would be very helpful.

We fixed the 38 errors (mostly problems with improperly escaped quotes, and Plural Forms missing from the header) and submitted a new release. This time it worked!
