I am trying to use smiley's in shouts but only the acronym appears in the shout. Not sure if smiley or shoutbox issue. I know that I have the smileys configured right and working in forum and pages.

This is a shoutbox issue.

Shoutbox is suppose to allow you to choose which text/input format to use, but this hasn't been implemented in Drupal 7 yet.
