I keep reading about the profile module, including in this article http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/profile & the things it can do. Some module or 2 that I have it need, but I neither find it in the place described in the above article among core modules nor anywhere among the downloadable modules.
One has no access to http://drupal.org/project/profile
So where does one find it? Or it no longer exists in Drupal 5.x?
Thanks

The profile module is part of Drupal core.
administer -> modules
insure you have the profile.module enabled under the core - optional area.
then visit
administer -> user management -> profiles

Thanks for the very rapid responses.
Actually that is why I came here.
I have checked 100 times under modules & it is certainly not listed under the core optional modules or I would have no problem at all, including enabling it, etc.
Proof, that's one of the modules requiring it & on the module page, it is not listed as (DISABLED) but as (MISSING):
Other optional core modules, like news aggregator, blog, forum are there...
:(
So what next?

inspect your core modules folder, is it there ?
if not, get a fresh download and copy the profile module from it, however I would at that stage, inspect every file to make sure they are there.
if the file is there, delete it and reupload a new one, its possible the file you have may have been corrupted at upload.

I did exactly as u suggested. On checking that folder, I discovered it was missing & within 2 minutes I had downloaded 5.1, got it & uploaded it.
Nice evening/day/nite, whichever is fitting. ;;).
