Is it possible to set this up so it would work with subdomains, or will that screw Drupal up too much?

bertboerland commentednot quite sure what you mean? you can installe drupal on a host.sub.domain.com or a example.com/directory
you can even use mod rewrite for point help.example.com to www.example.com/view/node/6
see for example this howto
[please use the forum for questions like these and not the feature requests]

Bèr Kessels commentedI am making this a wontfix. Why? As bertboeland wrote, there are other mthods to do what you want. Sections was never intended to do subdomains. Most ssevers will not allow "cross subdomain" installtion of drupal.
