The AJAX blocks project is a fork of this one here that already has a 7.x version available. This module here might be tagged as "Actively maintained" & "Under active development", but...
- its last commit was back in 2010-Sep-11 (that's more than a year ago and the last automatic commit from the git migration back in February 25, 2011 was simply a system hiccup that doesn't count)
- its latest stable release dates back in 2010-May-14
- the most recent reply from any of the maintainers I could locate in the issue queue also dates more than a year ago at the time of writing.
- the issues in its queue with pending patches had activity that dates 3 months ago or longer (most of them had no reply from any of the maintainers).
- its usage stats are ~60 installations at the time of writing, while AJAX blocks project's 6.x release's stats are ~300.
I guess these are reasons enough to consider this an abandoned project. If any of the maintainers ever bothers, they should at the very least update the project's page to:
- change its status to unmaintained/abandoned
- point to alternatives

klonosThanx Maxim, I wasn't aware of it. I've updated this issue's summary to stress that this project seems abandoned and to point to your module instead.
klonos...stress the facts that suggest that this project is abandoned & point to AJAX blocks as an alternative.

csevb10 commentedYeah, this module got a little hijacked, so I stopped really maintaing this project; for that I apologize. I added a note to the module page for ya. :-)
