Any plans on porting this module to D7?
if not a port, is there an alternative solutions for Drup 7?

+1; we use this on our production D6 website and really don't want to lose it when we upgrade to D7.
Upon searching for a flexifield usecase in D7 myself, I believe, the supposed alternative to flexifield will be Field collection, which I got to work to some success. (I got my info from a fieldgroup issue comment)
There has been a request for an update function from flexifield configurations in the issue queue, which was cleverly answered by: Why not better build a flexifield-update-routine in the flexifield project itself?
