Not all users are very good in written english. Do you think it is wise to add bokmål translations to the missing nynorsk translations and label them as fuzzy. Won't it be a lot easier to translate from bokmål to nynorsk by "correcting" the fuzzy strings instead of english to nynorsk.
I can add the strings in the translation tool. Moreover, will it be better if we make the effort of releasing a standardized bokmål first, so when we copy it to the missing nynorsk strings as fuzzy, the nynorsk will also be standardized from phase 1.
What do you think?

I don't think we should tag any releases before the translations reaches some crucial percentage (70%? 80%?) anyway, so people will know they get a partial translation.

Have you used some kind of automatic translation, like translation memory , or something? It seems that most are fuzzy strings. This is not meant to criticize... but looking at the aggregator.po we have checked out from cvs and uploaded to the translation tool at http://www.drupalnorge.no/oversettelser/list.php?file_list=yes&file_id=8...

The news items from %site have been removed. -> Innholdsinnstillingene er blitt lagret
administer news feeds -> administrer meny
....and most are like these. If you used an automatic translation, I think you should make it more strict......like in the properties: difference is only 1.... and reload/recommit new files

hba CreditAttribution: hba commentedThe translation files I uploaded to CVS mostly suck, and the reason for this is: On my 4.7 site (which is in nynorsk) I exported the site translation to a single .po, and split it up according to http://drupal.org/node/11311 (for 4.7 and 5.x). I haven't even checked the resulting .po's through POEdit before I checked them in. My bad.
It would of course be great if you (or anyone else) have some spare time to fix it.

hba CreditAttribution: hba commentedSure, here it is. By the way: even though locale.modules says this translation is 18.68% finished, the _users_ only see nynorsk. (What the admins see is another matter, though :) )

I am planning to contribute to nynorsk, but probably not more than a little. If there are people who intend to do a lot of nynorsk translation who prefer bokmål fuzzy strings, I'll withdraw my objections.

JohnFilipstadSince we are now using the norwegian localization server for both bokmål and nynorsk, then I think this issue isn't relevant anymore. We now have a stable process of translating these two norwegian languages.
I'm changing the status of this issue then. If there's someone who don't agree, then by all means, speak up :-)
