This issue and child issues that follow are based on the findings of the Content Strategy project performed by the Drupal Association staff in partnership with Forum One Communications during December 2014 - April 2015.

We can see what ideas emerge from that, and then bring it back to this issue for approval by Webmasters.

lisarex commentedI haven't done anything with this; perhaps we can organize sprints. If anyone is interested in leading or co-leading this, ping me in IRC or reach out via my contact form. I still think it would be good to tackle.
Regardless, it belongs in the Content project now so I'm moving it

mgiffordJust bumping this issue. It's been over a year and now that the D7 upgrade has happened, I think it should be easier to move ahead.
Thanks for the Drupal.org Content Overview wiki and have been thinking about the how aspect:
I'd love to hear more feedback, but I've been looking at how to build participation in the drupal community in this thread of issues:

Maybe we need more roles #2203331: Differentiation of the Maintainer Role not just for maintainers but for other roles in the community too.
We really need to do more to recognize folks who are contributing!

joshuamiThis is in progress now with more details at https://www.drupal.org/roadmap/design. An initial update was posted to https://www.drupal.org/news/content-strategy-update-february-2015 and the working groups are all involved in review of content model recommendations.
Another update will be posted in early March.
