Drupal V5RC2
First I would like to thank you so very much for Drupalizing this Editor for Drupal V5. It has been great to use. Simple and Fast or you might say jusat good old down and dirty. Either way it gets the job done fast. Especially nice when building a new site and pasting content into Nodes.
Everything has been working great until tonight. I upgraded to V5RC2.
Now there appears to be two body text area sections --- one above the other. The top Body text area box is false when creating a New Node. In other words – anything that is pasted in the top box is and will not be accepted.
If you paste into the second box – everything appears to be fine.
If you Edit a Node – content will display in both boxes.
This is as much detail as I have – I hope it helps.
Jeff

green monkey commented... I forgot to mention - I see this in --- both Books and CCK

hickory commentedI'm seeing this too, though on Preview there's only one body textarea, as it should be.
Sparky Marky commentedI'm getting this too, although if I refresh the page it only displays one and works fine
Comment #4
green monkey commentedI just noticed that Comments too, is having this problem
Comment #5
Ralf Skirr commentedI have the same problem, but only when using the widgeditor setting 'Enable widgEditor by default'.
Refreshing the page does not help for me.
pyutaros commentedI would also like to confirm the problem and the workaround submitted by Ralf. After installing the widgeditor and selecting to use it as default, I found two body fields for input, the top of which is false. Entering into the bottom updates the content like normal. Deselecting use as default and manually turning on widgeditor gives only one input secion.

shadyman@erroraccessdenied.com commentedThis also happens in release version V5, when creating nodes. It doesn't always happen, but happens more often than not.

david lesieur commentedI tried replacing jQuery 1.0.4 with 1.0.3 and it solved the problem. This confirms Gurpartap's suspicion.

AstaC commentedWill there be a new release for those of us who don't know how to replace JQuery?
lias commentedI have this problem only using IE 6, it doesn't seem to happen when I use Firefox, as registered user or admin. When I disabled default widgeditor it does correctly display the single toolbar when the Enable WYSIWYG link.
How did you manually replace jquery 1.0.4 with 1.0.3?
Thanks.

tenmon commentedI can confirm this one and it's preventing me to use it.
I'm using Drupal 5.1 and PHP 4.
If I have fQuery disabled, I get 2 widgEditor.
If I have it enabled, I get 2 widgEditor plus a 3rd one (a normal text area).
I couldn't find any fQuery 1.0.3 for download.
mfh commentedI confirm this (had this with Drupal 5.0, now switched to FCKeditor).
I had the impression it appeared when I installed Localizer or some other L18n stuff (i18n, ...?).
I also had the impression that it remained there when I tried tinyMCE (not sure)
mr700 commentedIs the problem caused by more than one text areas? I tried with 'Page' and 'Story':
I'll try to get just one textarea and see if it works better...
Gurpartap Singh commentedTo clear it out, this is not an issue with widgEditor, rather with javascript(jQuery1.0.4) in drupal code.
JohnNoc-old commentedjust reporting that it is not yet fixed...downloaded the editor 15min ago... and same problem in book textareas

mr700 commentedThe patch from node 110935, comment 195854 seems to fix this, at least for me.
mr700 commentedAbout comment #18, it works randomly, not always.
mr700 commentedI have the problem with FF 1.5 and IE 6 (XP and 98SE). I tried this and that but none worked at all (http://dev.jquery.com/ticket/975 , http://aheimlich.freepgs.com/tests/jquery/ajax-load/ , jQuery 1.1.x). Then I looked at the demo page - http://www.themaninblue.com/experiment/widgEditor/ and saw no widgInit(); at all. It turns out that commenting this line in the module fixes the problem everywhere:
(the line that starts with a minus sign '-')
Now I can add "teaser-edit" to the text arreas and all works fine (FF 1.5 on linux and IE 6 on Win98SE and WinXP).
Steel Rat commentedI confirm that commenting out that first widgInit() does fix the problem in FF 2.0 and IE 7.
mr700 commentedAnd a closer look shows it's the "right(tm) way" to be. The editor's javascript (widgEditor.js) attaches widgInit() to document.onload - look after the "END CONFIGURATION" - there's direct call to "run();" which does this:
Looks familiar? ;-) I think it is RTBC.

Gurpartap Singh commentedThanks mr700! The attached patch has been applied in the CVS 5.x dev branch. Have not got chance to test it but it should work well.
