Does anyone know if it's possible to limit the image size in the 'Image Field' module? Setting a limit in the 'Image' module does not seem to have any effect.

Also, is it possible to integrate thumbnails?

Try here:

admin/settings/uploads

Click Administration-->Site Configuration-->File Uploads

Not sure what modules need to be enabled.
