Yep.

My friend access my site from another computer and told me my installation page (the one that gives you several steps, register first admin account, blaah blah)

how do i turn that off and set my homepage as recent contents

Easiest way is to make a page (i.e build some content) then in the Publishing Options section in edit mode, and set that page to "Promoted to front page". That means you have now told this page that it is the front page. Thus over riding the default welcome screen.

i tried all the commands

it still doesnt work

i tried to install TinyMCE yesterday with my host's webftp. i uploaded the .gz file and it stopped installing because it didnt get to finish before the 180 seconds session

so i installed with smartFTP manually by extracting the folder onto my desktop and sent it straight to my /module folder

and i installing category content tool too, without any problems

i turned it off now. TinyMCE and category tool

Still doesnt work. this is getting very frustrating

Did you give Anonymous users the permission to view nodes?

^ if the above is true.

did you add any access modules ? and then remove them without disabling them first ?

kidwithshirt’s picture

could you explain this in detail?

sorry i m really new to web design.

When you were trying out modules did you install any of the access modules from the downloads area. these include but are not limited to taxonomy access, organic groups, nodeprivacy by role, simple access. for a total list of access modules, please view the access category in the downloads area and inspect these modules.

are any of these module currently installed, or were they at any point in time during your setup.
please give specifications. server OS version of php version of mysql.

when you say "i ran all commands" where did you run these commands? in the database?

too much information is far better then too little.

kidwithshirt’s picture

i only installed 2 modules

categories and TinyMCE

maybe categories is what you are talking about, should i delete it ?

I m hosting on DreamHost, i m pretty sure its linux or something like that

i ran the commands in my mysql place, mysql.eggside.com

i ran it in the database Drupal is in

kidwithshirt’s picture

i dont know if this is what you meant

but i installed tinyMCE, the first time it crashed during install

i checked modules page on drupal and its there. So i deleted the folder in FTP

if this is a mistake could you tell me how to fix it

if there is no important content, dump the database and reinstall the tables. then reenable your modules.
