I was wondering if it's possible to use the invoice numbers in the url path (with pathauto)?

If you navigate to Site Building > URL Aliases > Automated Alias Settings > Pattern for all invoice paths

Now I have invoice/[title-raw] but i'd like to have invoice/[invoice-number] or something like that. Is that possible?

These are tokens - I have just committed a few bits of token support to the 2.x branch but it is not comprehensive yet.

I suggest that you follow up at #332555: Token support- proof of concept listing the token you want ([invoice-number].
