The Bounty program: Starshot edition

With all the news and activities happening around Starshot, you may have missed this, but the Drupal Association has launched the Starshot Contribution Credits. This consists of credits granted to a series contributions, in particular:

  • contributions to any modules, themes, etc that are designated as part of Starshot,

Pitchburgh update March 2024

As the Pitchburgh projects are reaching their final milestones and they get completed, I wanted to do something new for this update, something different and, hopefully, something exciting and fun as well.

What's next for (Drupal) innovation

Last year the Drupal Association brought me onto the team using a special board vision fund to help kick off our first steps in increasing our focus on innovation.

Contributor guide: Maximizing Impactful Contributions

As I have mentioned in the past, many people and companies have communicated to me in the past their willingness to know how they could make their contribution more impactful to Drupal and the Drupal association. The Bounty program has proved success, and we are exploring and getting new ideas to extend it. However we don't want to stop here.

Promoting contribution from the user registration

We have made a recent update on drupal.org that you haven’t probably noticed. In fact, although it's a meaningful and important section, I bet you have not seen it in months or even years. It's something you would have only seen when you registered on Drupal.org for the first time. I’m talking about the welcome email for new registered users.

Drupal means innovation: Introducing the innovation hub

As many of you may already know, the Drupal Association has set strategic goals for 2023 to 2025, such as doubling the number of organizations that are makers and tripling the number of contributions (Read the strategic plan here). In line with these objectives, I joined in 2023 to contribute to boosting activities in support of these goals. Since then, we've been up to some pretty exciting stuff.

It's time to migrate from Drupal 7. Let me show you (how to start)

Note: this is a refresh of an old article I wrote in my previous life as a Technical Solutions Manager in Acquia. The old approach uses Drush, while the 2024 version is much faster to set up and easy to use through the Drupal UI.

Bounty program extension (for innovative modules and ideas)

A few weeks ago we announced the Bounty Program. This was a pilot program with the idea to solve a few common problems. For a start, and after meeting with different companies and individuals, it is apparent that we need a clear path and guidance to where contributions would be most helpful. A constant question from pretty much all companies I have met was “how can we make our contributions more impactful”.

Drupalcon Lille 2023

Did you miss DrupalCon Europe in Lille in October? It was a great event, with close to 1300 attendees.

Drupal Innovation in 2024: the Contribution Health Dashboards

2023 has been an eventful year, full of ideas, discussions and plans regarding innovation, where Drupal is heading, and, in our case, how the Drupal Association can best support. On top of that, you may have already heard, but innovation is a key goal for the Drupal Association.
