I have a client that would like to import users with their employee id as the primary key, but with a separate username. Is there any way to specify which field to use as the primary key?

mstrelan commentedNot sure if I was totally clear on that, the import needs to be able to update Username and Email address based on Employee ID

StevenWill commentedI am also interested in setting the user id.

earthangelconsulting commentedThe lack of response on this thread makes me think this feature isn't going to happen soon? or is there something in the works?

p2252 commentedI am also interested in choosing another id to match on, specifically to update user-records. In my use-case an email address can change, but the employee id stays the same.

gisleClosing this as outdated as D6 is no longer supported.
There is an open Drupal 7 issue for this: #2292427: Port 'Ability to select primary key' patch to D7.
