I have today uploaded v4 to my server and i have tried for the last 5hours 33minutes to make it work but to no avail.

I hope someone can help me. I keep getting this message:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home/lees2078/web/drop/includes/conf.php on line 2

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/lees2078/web/drop/includes/conf.php on line 2
Database problem: DB Error: not found

i have created my database changed user, pwd and pointed the file to the section of the server for mysql

please please please can anybody help, i didn't have much hair before i started trying to make it work now i ony have one eyebrow

Sure you got your database settings right? You didn't forgot the quotes and the trailing ";"? Also, you're not using any special characters (like quotes or "@") in your username/password/database name?
