It would be really nice to have an automatic migration from http://drupal.org/project/cck_address to this module. I personally am coming up on an upgrade of a site that uses the aforementioned module and there is no upgrade path to d6.

This would be great! Considering that cck_address appears to be done and a lot of sites are being held to D5, some sort of upgrade path would be super-helpful.

I've done a bit of work on both the cck_address and addresses modules and would be prepared to create a module to upgrade from the former to the latter if there are any suitable sponsors for this or if you all want to pool together for it.

Thanks. This patch is applied to the Addresses module and not the Address Field for CCK module, right?

Once the patch has worked its magic, is it OK to reinstall the unpatched version of the module?

If there is anyone who can provide a review of the update from the Address CCK module to the Addresses module it would be greatly appreciated. If there is no review within a week I will close this issue as the Address CCK module is long dead and would not be needed in Addresses.

Aren Cambre, thanks for the link to the issue for the D5 module, Address field for CCK, and especially that as a result I found the vote of confidence from New Zeal in the issue.

If you have experience with the Address field for CCK module and could test the patch submitted by Darren Oh in #6 I would be more than thrilled to include it in the D6 version of Addresses. That way the Address field for CCK refuges have an easy upgrade path.

Doesn't look like the patch in #6 ever made it into a release. I am upgrading from a D5 site using address_cck and this patch worked great for me. My addresses are back!

I put it in HEAD now. It looks like the code may have been put in 6.x-2.x instead. And it looks like there is not 6.x-1.x tag in the git setup. Anyway, it will be there for the next person who upgrades from 5.x. I dunno how many still do that... 8-)
