Thanks for raising this issue and submitting the patch. Everything continues to work for me with the Maxlength module after applying this patch. So, I'll mark it as RTBC.

However, I'm assigning this to hipp2bsquare for a final code review to ensure we don't need those parameters for any of the upcoming work we plan to complete for the stable release of 2.0.
