I applied the patch from #3 and it's working well.

Upgrade status module also marked as "Green"

If you want to apply the patch to the stable version instead of the dev version use the patch #5 attached.

It's weird, but it only applies properly if you move core_version_requirement before description. It's a conflict with Drupal.org packaging script.
