When installing the module, it says "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." When trying to add the custom search block by clicking on the "Place block" button, the configuration window won't show up.

Sorry about that. The last time I made it work was for the first beta version... About one year ago. I have to find some time to make it work with the actual stable version, time that I don't really have right now.

Install was throwing a couple of exceptions. One of them was fixed in dev, and the other is that config/install/custom_search.yml needs to be renamed to custom_search.settings.yml (or something else with a namespace).

I ran into a couple of issues rendering the block, so I rolled those into this patch as well, hope you don't mind.

Thank you, but I doubt that those are the only errors that need to be fixed, since I don't have touched the 8.x branch for a long time :-)
