what a nasty little bug:
* create a view with a block display
* see your block show up :-)
* give it a machine name of "hello-there" (use a dash, not underscore!)
* search hours where your block has gone :-(

View can not be edited if a block's machine name begins with a number. Specficially, I tested this a few times with the number "3_" without quotes. I believe it only throws an error if you edit the machine name to begin with a number and also edit the (admin) block name. I lost about 20 minutes of work and I doubt there is much reason anyone NEEDS to have their block begin with a number, so I recommend one simply disable it in the UI validation. I can potentially patch this if someone else needs this to be addressed.

I have tried editing these on view displays with the names beginning with a number. Can you give some exact steps to reproduce this? Otherwise, I think this might be fixed.
