Setup Authy Authenticator as 2FA / TFA method

This document will help you to configure Authy Authenticator as Second Factor Authentication - 2FA / TFA method for Drupal account using the Two Factor Authentication - TFA / Passwordless Login module. This module is compatible with Drupal 7, Drupal 8, Drupal 9, Drupal 10, and Drupal 11.

Installation Steps

Prerequisites:

  1. The module is activated on your Drupal site. (Follow Installation steps)
  2. The latest version of the Twilio Authy app must be installed on devices running iOS or Android.

Setup Authy Authenticator 2FA method:

  1. Navigate to the 2FA for Primary Admin tab of the module.
    Path: /admin/config/people/miniorange_2fa/setup_twofactor
  2. Scroll down to find the TOTP based 2FA methods section.
  3. In the Action column beside an Authy Authenticator, click on the Configure button.
  4. Configure Authy Authenticator window will appear, and scan the QR code with the Twilio Authy app.
  5. In Step 3: Enter the passcode generated in the Authy Authenticator app into the Passcode text field.
  6. Click on the Verify button.

You have successfully configured the Authy Authenticator - 2FA method.

User Experience:

Once you’ve completed the Authy Authenticator setup, open a new browser or private window and log in to your Drupal site. You will be prompted to verify your identity using the configured 2FA method — Authy Authenticator.
