Basic timeline view creation

Content type with date field(s)
- Create new content type to hold event nodes for your timeline.
- Add field of type datetime with "select list" form element.
- Please check on the date field configuration page that "Time zone handling:" is selected as the same as the settings chosen in the site's timezone handling settings. Could be Site's timezone or user's timezone.
- Now add some nodes with content
View
- On Views page, click "add"
- Give your view a name
- Row style: Fields
- Define fields to show up inside of the bubble of every event. Be sure that at least one date field is present
- Date fields must be of the type of data to store = "Date (ISO format)" and widget should be "Select list"
- Style: Timeline
- Define fields on "Fields usage". At least one field used for the title and one for the start date.
- Define band intervals and if you want to have a second summary band
- Initial focus: Select where the initial timeline load should point to
- Filters:
- Node type is one of: "Your timeline content type"
- You might want to select published: True as well.
- You might need to also add a filter for date related to this issue: #637928: Missing events when more than 50.
- Turn "Ajax" off if you have exposed filters, as the submit won't work unless selected twice
- "Add Display" to add a page display containing all the settings you just made.
- Define a path to reach this view later
- Click "Save" to save all of the changes to your new view
