Drupal 7 will no longer be supported after January 5, 2025. Learn more and find resources for Drupal 7 sites

To enable the Blog module, navigate to Administration >> Modules.

Configure permissions

Blog permissions can be set by role on the permissions page at Administration >> People >> Permissions (http://example.com/#overlay=admin/people/permissions).

The "Node" permissions pertaining to the Blog module can be used to allow users to create, edit or delete a blog entry.

Configure the blog entry content type

To add instructions for users on creating their blogs and to customize workflow options

  1. Navigate to Administration >> Structure >> Content Types, and click the Edit link beside Blog entry
  2. Under “Submission form settings”, enter your instructions in the "Explanation or submission guidelines"
  3. Under “Publishing options” configure workflow options

Configure menus and blocks

To assist navigation to the Blog section, add a menu link to the Blog listing page, http://example.com/blog, at Administration >> Structure >> Menus

Alternatively you can enable the Blogs menu item under the Navigation menu at http://example.com/#overlay=admin/structure/menu/manage/navigation. There is also an option to provide a link to the My Blog section.

By default, a link to a user's blog posts is available on the profile page.

The blocks available with the Blog module include Recent Blog Posts.
You can configure and enable them at Administration >> Structure >> Blocks
