I'm a web developer who has been building Drupal sites since 2007. Before there was front-end or back-end or administrative/configuration end... I just did it all. Whatever was needed. My design sense is about as sophisticated as a stick-figure drawing of a cat, but I can get by. I can see the beauty in a website that just works because the code is solid. Most websites I've built have a custom module or two because every website is unique.
For a couple years I stepped away from Drupal to learn new skills (ASP.NET) but as if in homage to the Godfather, I kept being pulled back in. Old sites that needed maintenance or features; new sites that were just easier to build using Drupal.
So I'm back. I've renewed my membership and I'm going to commit to an hour a week helping out. That's not a lot, but it's something I'm pretty sure I can commit to.
Oh, who am I outside of Drupal? Good question.
Some people call me the space cowboy...wait...that's the Steve Miller Band.
How about we go with I'm a woman who:
- loves to travel, but rarely gets to.
- loves to landscape, but still has to finish that project from last month.
- does DIY on her 70's ranch, picking a new room to work on each year (and does finish it).
- has an interest in the environment and tries to reduce, then reuse, then recycle.
- still mows her 1/4 acre with an electric push mower rather than a gas ride-on.
- is rather camera-shy.
- will someday have blue hair for more than a day.
- will return to Paris and walk on every bridge across the Seine.
- will visit New Zealand, and perhaps retire there.
In other words, I'm unique, just like everyone else.
Spends time helping Drupal newbies to delay working on solving her own issues. :)
