Issue #2899898 : add show All filter

This new version contains changes that have slowly accumulated since May 2012. Aside from the changes listed below, this new version includes a full test suite.

I know this has been a long time coming. I have been working hard for the past couple of months to wrap up the remaining tasks that are required to release an 8.x-2.0 version, along with other various updates and bug fixes for the 7.x versions. Writing the 7.x-1.3 upgrade path was a huge step forward to that end. There is still a lot of work to do, but I'm feeling motivated to get it done.
