This release uses the new Twitter REST API version 1.1. The main difference between 1.0 (used by Twitter 6.x-3.0) is that all requests must be authenticated with OAuth.
Since March 2013 Twitter API 1.0 will be turned off so sites using Twitter 6.x-3.0 or earlier must upgrade in order to keep on interacting with Twitter. More details can be found at https://dev.twitter.com/blog/changes-coming-to-twitter-api.
Added delay to make sure there is no default login code and password on the credentials page. In addition, a timeout is added to make sure the login does not happen too often.
After much work and a lot of input from a great many contributors, I'm proud to present the first stable release since January 2011. This version includes a wealth of improvements, new features and fixes and is a recommended update for all sites; it is also feature-identical with the new Drupal 7 stable release.
