We upgraded drupal.org from Drupal 4.3.0 straight to Drupal HEAD. So in good Drupal tradition, we are once again using the development version of Drupal on drupal.org. That is, we (developers) get to "eat our own dog food" and you (users) get to see and test that latest changes. The updated site caters to the each of us with better project pages (check the navigation menu), better performance and improved usability.
Upgrading the site was easy and took no longer than 15 minutes. Though, Kjartan and I spent most of the afternoon implementing small improvements and updating some of the contributed modules that we use here on drupal.org. Everything seems to work fine, but please let us know if you find anything out of whack.
The Drupal project has released version 4.3.1 of its open-source content management platform today. There are no new features in this installment, just fixes bugs from the 4.3.0 release.
Drupal: powerful, modular and extensible
Drupal is a full fledged platform for web applications: its flexible, modular architecture can host virtually any type of dynamic website, as is easily adapted to specific needs.
All modules and themes that work for 4.3.0 will work with 4.3.1.
Ok, This may not be a big deal to all of you, but I just wanted to say I finally finished my conversion of FrazierHome.net to Drupal 4.3.0 and from the Interlaced Theme to the Xtemplate theme. I've modified the Xtemplate css file so that it looks quite a bit like the Blue Interlaced theme (style 1) which I really liked, but it has the functionality of the Xtemplate theme.
This is my first time at really hacking into a CSS file, so I'm pretty happy with being able to figure this all out... ;)
Drupal is an extremely powerful website platform. It can be used to create a wide variety of websites, and can be highly customized. This power comes at the price of some ease of use for the webmaster, but is well worth the time it takes to become familiar with the system.
