Need help migrating your site to Drupal?

Drupal Forum - setting up the colour scheme

Hello All,

Just a quick question... where and how can I change the colour scheme of my Drupal forum... I've tried changing the tags in the main theme configuration that have "forum" in their name, but they're not having any effect...

Could some kind soul point me in the direction of which tags to change for a certain parts of the forum scheme?

Moving from PHPNuke to Drupal. [Modules Quest]

Hi,

At the last days I'm researching Drupal, and I am very statisfied from what I see.

Most of the modules that I looked for, I found.

Interbase Perl CMS to Drupal

We have a 6 year old Perl / Interbase CMS with about 10,000 entries, and were wondering if it was something Drupal could be adapted to work with. I know that Interbase can be converted to MySQL, and that Drupal runs off MySQL, but would drupal be able to be adapted to access and adapt the old database structure, and my understanding is that drupal is basically a PHP library talking to a MySQL database...correct me if I'm wrong...is it possible to write addtional PHP and bolt it on to drupal, and do people do that much?

Nuke to Drupal

I have started converting my site fron nuke to drupal. I have some problems.

1. Are there a specific module to enable "avatar" in Drupal?
2. What is the most useful module for "Web Links"?

Incorporating my css design into drupal

Hi, I'm sorry you probably get tons of posts like this that are exactly the same.

I'm an intern for http://www.enthusiastgroup.com/ and I’ve designed a sample CSS page for them, so that hopefully in the future they would no longer be using Drupals default theme. The css design can be seen here: http://home.earthlink.net/~dancer4ever/new_revisions/home.html

I thought I'd try seeing if I could figure out how to incorporate my design into their currently set up drupal site, as a useful learning experience before dumping the task on my bosses know more than I know about doing this.

Unfortunately, I only know some CSS and HTML. I started reading from the Customization and theming section of the handbook. This resulted, unfortunately, in me becoming profusely confused, rather than in me knowing how to customize and theme.

So I guess where I’m going with this, as other newbies before me, where to start?

Can what I designed even be used? Is there a certain method of re-coding it, so that it can be used? Do I need to redesign it to use tables, so that I can easily (haha) mimick one of Drupal’s default designs? Do I need to be reading up on php and SQL before even trying to implement my design? Would I be less confused by reading the entire handbook, instead of starting in the middle, in the section that somewhat appeared to be about what I was looking to achieve? Is this something where I could just override that style.css and not have to bother with coding a theme file? Is this post even in the right section? Should I stop writing questions now, even though I know I can ask more?

importing node content into DB

I feel like I'm in a bit over my head here.

I've got about 300 nodes that I need to import to a Drupal site from a mysql homegrown site. I can get the data into the Drupal database, but I'm not sure which tables need to be updated in order to for Drupal to do its node-tracking niceness. Is there a way for me to tell Drupal that there's new nodes in the database without creating those nodes through the Drupal web interface?
