I'm trying to setup a directory listing of group members, with a profile for each member including pictures. Is Drupal's user profile module flexible enough to accept multiple custom fields without chopping at the code?

OK, I've tried this really really hard, and tried reading through the Drupal book on the subject, but I just keep getting nowhere.

Basically, I have NEVER gotten a patch to work. Here's a good example.

I read the Issues Log of PoorMansCron over at http://drupal.org/node/view/7513, and it says to fix it to use the patch.

So I download the poormanscron.patch file and put it in the same directory as poormanscron.module in an otherwise empty directory in my Linux box.

Has anybody gotten a look at Oracle's patent on CMSs? It looks like Oracle is trying to claim a patent on any Web tool that uses a database to generate content and classify it. Any IP lawyers know what's going on? What are the implications for Drupal? Drupal users?

I converted my Postnuke site to drupal. It works like a charm except...
If I'm not logged in the main page gives an error "page not found".

This isn't an apache error.. it's coming from drupal itself, but in the place where normally the stories are published.

Here's the conversion script ( http://drupal.org/node/view/9436 ) if that helps any, but I'm sure I'm just not activating something in drupal.

Ok, so what's happening here?

This just doesnt make sense, those pages exist and are accessible?
