I am working on a migration from a custom CMS to Drupal. The current system uses Zoomify to allow users to view copies of original documents up-close. I am confused as to how I can import all the existing Zoomify assets and attach them to nodes that I have already created so that I begin building the views that link to the Zoomify viewer and depend on Zoomify tiles.
There are several thousand documents, each with at least a few pages each. Many of these documents already have Zoomify directories for every page. We wouldn't want to recreate them using Drupal Image Styles or anything like that.
Does the Zoomify module have any built in software to recognize the contents of tile directories if I provide the path to the highest level zoom directory for a given page? Is feeds even the appropriate tool to use for the job? Does this have to be accomplished programmatically?
Have there been others who have had preexisting zoomify assets that they have had to import into Drupal?
I checked existing issues and searched for related posts on other Drupal-related forums but the only closely related post I found was from 2008, although it does provide some guidance (I'm just not sure if this method is still sound): http://drupal.org/node/279485#comment-912656
Any feedback, information, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

infojunkieSorry for the late reply. I think using Feeds to migrate Zoomify files would be overkill.
Although I haven't migrated Zoomify content myself, the idea is simple. Zoomify files are organized inside the files/zoomify folder using a hierarchy nid/fid, with nid = node id and fid = file id. The Zoomify module itself looks into these folders directly and does not rely on any database access.
So the idea of a migration would be to find the node id corresponding to each article being migrated, and the file id of each image being added to the article, then creating the files/zoomify/nid/fid structure and copying into it the Zoomify files. Note that Zoomify also expects an additional file Image.md5 to be placed inside the directory structure. This file is created by computing
md5_file()on the standard Zoomify file ImageProperties.xml.
